Namibia Packing List
Pack for heat, cold, dust, gravel roads, long distances, and lodge-to-lodge logistics rather than a single weather forecast.
Packing logic
Layering matters more than fashion
Namibia can move from hot midday sun to cold desert nights, especially in the dry winter months. Roads are dusty, distances are long, and remote areas reward redundancy.
Use this list as a practical starting point, then adjust for lodge travel, camping, hiking, photography, or fly-in luggage limits.

What changes by season
May to August can be cold at night, especially in desert and highland areas. October to February can bring intense heat, stronger sun exposure, and summer storms in some regions.
If your route includes the Zambezi Region or northern malaria-risk areas, speak with a travel-health professional about route-specific medical preparation.
