Namibia Travel Advisory
Everything you need to know about traveling safely to Namibia.
Overall Assessment: Low Risk
Namibia is consistently rated as one of the safest countries in Africa for international travelers. Check current government advisories before travel, as warning levels can change.
Is Namibia Safe to Travel To?
Yes, Namibia is safe to travel to and is widely regarded as one of Africa's most secure tourist destinations. The country has a low crime rate in tourist areas, excellent road infrastructure for self-drive travel, and well-regulated national parks. Violent crime against tourists is extremely rare.
Solo female travelers, families with children, and LGBTQ+ travelers generally report positive experiences. The country's low population density means you'll often have vast landscapes entirely to yourself.
